Wade Vaughan was born on October 10,1936 in Pasadena, California. Wade and his younger brother, Bruce Vaughan were raised by their mother, Betty Vaughan.

After graduating from high school, Wade went to college and graduated from UCLA. First thing after college, he joined the Marines to proudly serve his country. His first job after the Marine Corp. was working for the Forest Service. One day some of his buddies that worked at the Forest Service wanted to try joining the L.A. Fire Department. They talked Wade into going with them for the day. While they were all there, somehow Wade got accepted to the department as well. Wade loved working for the fire department all those years and building the friends and family that would last a lifetime. After an injury, Wade retired from the L.A. Fire Department on July 18,1983. Wade decided that he wanted to move to Mackay, Idaho where he had some land and would soon build a house. During this time, he joined and became a member of the American Legion. In 1989 he met and married his wife of 36 years, Donna. A few months later they moved to the cabin house he built in Mackay and made it their home.  A few years later he realized their home had to grow because when he married Donna it was a full package deal with her four children. He had an instant growing family in which he inherited, and he accepted as his own. His family would now include Kevin (Barbara) Bailey, Frank Bailey, Cari (Scott) Heuer, Tami (Eric) Foster and all their grandchildren and great grandchildren. After adding on to the cabin, it was finally cozy for a growing family. The cabin he built and loved happily in return took care of him until his passing on August 19,2025.

Some of Wade’s favorite things to do were to watch ALL the animals that ventured into their yard, fishing, hunting, watching sports, collecting stamps and quarters, watching the hummingbirds fly up to the feeders, getting together with old friends & fire department buddies, talking and visiting with others. His favorite color was red and loved anything that had a fire truck.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home with military rites provided by the American Legion of Mackay.
