Susan Edyth Smith
Susan Edyth Smith, 73, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, went home to be with her Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ, Saturday, May 13, 2023, after a battle with cancer.
Susan was born November 25, 1949, in Sheridan Wyoming. Susan's parents were George
and Germaine Payseno. Susan grew up in Cody Wyoming where she graduated from high
school. After high school, she went to nursing school at Normandale College in
Minneapolis, Minnesota, and became certified as an LPN and then as an RN. Susan worked
as a nurse in Minneapolis, Minnesota, then Billings, Montana, at the hospital in Kemmerer,
Wyoming, and then Idaho Falls, Idaho. Susan was involved in many aspects of the
medical profession and health care, one of which was regularly teaching CPR classes in
Montana, Idaho, and Utah. Now and then, the company would fly her to other states to
teach CPR classes.
On November 29, 1991, Susan married John Benjamin Smith in Elko Nevada. They lived
in Kemmerer, Wyoming before moving to Idaho Falls, in 1992.
Susan enjoyed her family, crocheting, playing cards, traveling, cruises, flying, hunting,
competition shooting, riding in side by sides, and branding calves in Mackay in the
Spring. Susan's faith in her Lord and Savior was very important to her, especially the
Hebrew foundation of the Christian faith.
Susan is survived by her husband John, and children, Norman, Ronald, Jarma, Jake, Ben,
and Kibby, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and siblings Nancy and
Allen. Susan was preceded in death by her parents and sister Jeannie.
