Marlin D. Anderson, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on February 11, 2021.
He was born in Riverside, (Blackfoot) Idaho, the son of CA (Hoot) & Leona Bitton Anderson. In 1942 his family moved to Mackay, Idaho. Marlin graduated from Mackay High School, then attended Ricks College briefly before serving in the Northern States Mission. He worked on the family farm after returning from his mission and was then inducted into the United States Army. He served in Korea as part of his service and later called back into active duty where he served at Ft. Irwi in California. After returning home he farmed with his dad, eventually purchasing the farm where he has resided since.
He married Judy Davenport in 1962 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He served in many church callings including Bishop and as an Idaho Falls LDS Temple worker.
Surviving are his wife, Judy, sons; Dale (Meghan), Darin (Shandon), Rob (Lyndsey), Daughters; Denise (Lee) Gregory, LaAnn (Janssen) Lewis, brother; Daryl (Sharon) Anderson and sister Debbie Duchscher, twenty grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who loved to spend time at the Mackay farm. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Irma Anderson. At the time of his passing he was under the care of Salmon Valley Hospice.
Interment will be a Mt. McCaleb Cemetery with a memorial service to be held at a later date. Funeral services are being cared for by the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Arco.
