Kenneth “Kenny” Buckwalter

Kenneth “Kenny” Buckwalter, 71, of Mackay, Idaho peacefully passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Idaho Falls Community Hospital surrounded by family. Kenneth was born in Manheim, PA, he was the son of late J. Quentin and Geraldine Buckwalter. He was a 1970 graduate of Manheim Central High School. He founded KLB Masonry in 1978 and continued to operate it until he sold his business in 1998. 

Kenneth was a devout Christian and enjoyed doing mission work and helping with the church in various capacities. In 1999 Kenneth moved to Idaho to live out his lifetime dream of owning a ranch. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He was an animated storyteller who enjoyed nothing more than making people laugh. 

Kenneth is survived by his four children, daughter, Missy (Nick) Benner of Cortland, NY, son, Travis (Sara) Buckwalter of Moore, ID, daughter, Nicole Buckwalter of Boise, ID, son, Eli Buckwalter of Mackay, ID, his 4 grandchildren Cody Benner, Ava Buckwalter, Mya Buckwalter, Zoe Buckwalter. In addition to his children and grandchildren he is survived by two brothers, Robert (Brenda) Buckwalter of Manheim, PA and Jeffrey (Peggy) Buckwalter of Manheim, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Jay Quentin Buckwalter III and grandson Liam Jay Buckwalter. 

A short service and celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 11:00 am, in the Mackay High School Auditorium. Join us for a time of fellowship immediately following the service in the Mackay Elementary cafeteria. Interment in Mackay Cemetery under the direction of the Anderson Family Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for contributions to be made in Kenneth’s memory to the Mackay Booster Club as he always enjoyed watching Mackay sporting events. Mackay Booster Club 5425 Hwy 93, Mackay ID 83251.

  2. We had the privilege of going to Manheim Central High School with Ken.
    He was a heck of a nice guy and fun to be around. He did have that big smile, and he
    always made your laugh. Everyone was looking forward to seeing him at our reunion,
    but unfortunately that didn’t happen.

  3. I shared so many memories with the Buckwalter family every summer growing up !! Ken was one of kind & I’m so glad I had a chance to see him while visiting with his father ..
    Quintie was my favorite Uncle & Geraldine my favorite Aunt and each of her son’s were very special in their own way!! Ken always had a smile on his face and made others happy!! He’ll be missed!! Rest In Peace.. Thoughts & prayers to his family & close friends..🙏🙏🤗❤️

    I am Kenny’s cousin, and one of the youngest. I would spend two weeks with Quincy and Dean and all the he boys. So much fun. They would swing me around in a circle, spend time with me. Kenny always had that smile and laugh. I loved spending time every summer with them. Kenny will be missed but I know he loved you all and your memories are always in your heart.   6. I am Kenny’s cousin and we had so much fun growing up. All the cousins spent a lot of time together, especially on Pap’s farm . He will be missed by many. He was a great man, always a big smile & fun. My sympathy goes out to all the family. God be with you all through this rough time. He is at peace now without pain! Love & prayers to al🙏🙏💞💞
