Keith Lorin Nickerson

Keith Lorin Nickerson, 93, of Howe, Idaho passed away peacefully on November 8, 2023, surrounded by his 3 children in Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho.

Keith was born September 24, 1930, in Ogden, Utah to Lorin Nickerson & Leora Crezee Nickerson. After two weeks they returned to their cabin in Palisades. Three years later his sister Phyllis was born. Five years after that his brother Brent joined the family.

After living in Palisades, their family moved to Goshen, Idaho. They then moved to Richfield, Ogden, Ririe and eventually settled on a farm in Firth, Idaho. Keith graduated from Firth High School in 1948. After high school he enlisted in the Navy and served for the next thirteen months. He returned home and started farming with his dad. In 1950 on Saturday night, he and his friends followed a car of beautiful girls home to see where they lived. The next day he drove to Blackfoot to ask Fern Larson on a date. A year and a half later on June 12, 1951, Keith and Fern were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served in many callings.

On Christmas Eve in 1953, their son Greg Keith was born.  After three years of many challenges and trials of parenting, they were extremely blessed with their beautiful daughter, Sheri.  Four and a half years later their youngest and favorite child, Kirk Lorin was born.  They raised their family in Firth, Idaho.  In 1983 they moved to Howe, where Keith farmed with his favorite son Kirk, for the rest of his life.

He is survived by his three children, Greg (Michelle), Sheri (Alan), and Kirk (Yvonne); his sister, Phyllis (Gene); his brother Brent (Pat); 11 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Fern, and his grandson, Kade Keith Nickerson.

The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, and the staff at the Madison Memorial Hospital for the loving care they showed our Dad.
