Joyce Margaret Beck Tibbits

Joyce Margaret Beck Tibbitts 89, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 16, 2023 in Bountiful, Utah.                      

   Joyce was born August 1,1933 to Delsa Marion Hill and Merlin Clarence Beck in Rexburg, Idaho.  She began grade school in Idaho Falls but the war came and her family left for work in Utah.  She finished the school year in Ogden, UT.  They went from there to Idaho,  first to  Lewisville, then Archer, then Ammon, and then to Mud Lake. Joyce went to eight different schools in four years of grade school.  In 8th grade she went to high school in Roberts, ID and left the last semester of her senior year to graduate from Butte High School in Arco, Idaho.  It is there that she met her future husband, Steve.

   Joyce was sealed to Steven Wesley Tibbitts on March 21, 1952 in the Idaho Falls temple.  They made their home in the Lost River Valley.  She was a loving wife and a mother to four girls Debra, Joy, Alane, and Stephanie and two boys Wesley, and Blaine.

   Joyce was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served faithfully in leadership positions at the Stake and Ward level.  Her positions ranged from President of the Young Women’s organization to Primary Chorister.  She served nobly in whatever position she was called to do.

  She worked as an Ordinance Worker in the Idaho Falls temple for many years.  She also served a mission in Nauvoo with her her husband Steve.

  She was an active member of the hospital auxiliary in Arco and crocheted, knitted, and embroidered countless items to be sold in the hospital gift shop to support the hospital.

  Joyce is the mother of  six children, grandmother to 29 grandchildren, and has 52 great grandchildren.  All of whom she took great pride in and loved dearly.

  Survivors are her daughters Debra Bourne, Joy Jones, Stephanie Johansson, her sons Wesley Steven and Blaine Emmett and her sister Diane Blazich.  She was proceeded in death by her father and mother, one sister Renee, and three brothers Blaine, Blair, Verl, one daughter, Alane Sleight and one granddaughter Melissa Jones.

   A viewing will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary at 1941 North Main Street, Farmington.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22 at 11:00 am at the Farmington Pointe Chapel at 905 Foxhunter Drive, Farmington with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the service.  Interment and a graveside service will be held at the Lost River Cemetery at 3434 West 2900 North in Moore, ID at 12 pm under the direction of the Anderson Family Funeral Home on July 29, 2023.

    Joyce was an ever so delightful lady filled with love and happiness always. I had the privilege of being her friend as well as working with her in the hospital auxiliary. She and Steve were always happy and such kind folks to everyone in the community. May God bring all her family and friends joy happy remembrances always. Treasure your family memories.
