James “Jim” Francis Williams

James Francis Williams was born in Driggs, Idaho on December 6, 1950, to Thomas Joseph and Elenor Pill Williams. Jim passed away on August 29, 2021, at his home in Arco, Idaho.

Jim attended grade school and high school in Mackay, Idaho. He then went to ISU and Boise State University receiving a BA in Education. During his high school years, he worked at various farms throughout the valley. Jim did his student teaching in Mackay School District and then accepted a teaching position at Butte School District 111 where he taught Art and English. While there he also coached football, girls basketball, and track. Jim loved his students and working with the staff.

In May of 1989, Jim began his long career with the INL, working in the engineering department. He retired in January of 2016 after 27 years. A few years after his retirement he began working for the Joshua Smith Foundation which he enjoyed working with the clients and staff. Jim married Terry Mays on November 30, 1991, in Howe, Idaho. They were married for 29 years. Golfing, riding his Harley Motorcycle, ATVs, camping, and his art were a few of Jim's hobbies.

Surviving is his wife, Terry Williams; his daughters, Casey Williams and Tekkla Jane Williams; a son, Josh (Krista) Mays; his grandchildren, Courtney (Riley) Kowitz, JayCee Cooper, Rhilan & Ashelyn Mays, and Carter Thomas Williams; his brother, Jerry (Sharon) Williams; a niece, Audry (Mike) Morris and great-nieces Madison and Kennedy Morris.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held and announced at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of the Anderson Family Funeral Home.
