On December 8, 1989, she married Brian Harrell in Howe, Idaho.  They made their home in Howe and were blessed with two children, Zac & Kaytln.

Ilene enjoyed life and loved living in Howe where she felt loved and welcomed.  One of her greatest joys was driving over the point of the mountain coming home into the Little Lost River Valley.  She loved working on their farm and especially enjoyed running the baler.  Brian thought it might be her most favorite hobby besides being with her family.

In 2023 Ilene retired from the INL and began traveling with her sweetheart, Brian.  This brought them a lot of joy and they made many wonderful memories.  Ilene was a Christian and loved her Savior very much.

Surviving is her husband, Brian Harrell; her children, Zac and Kaytln Harrell; her sisters, Bonnie (Mark) Davis, and Jeannie (Rodney) Fuger; a sister-in-law, Diane Walstrom; a brother-in-law, Mike Rhoads and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Pete & Janice Walstrom, a brother, Victor Walstrom, and a sister Annette Walstrom Rhoads.

  1. Wow I am so sorry for your loss. IIene was awesome to work with. If you needed help she was always there to lend a hand. She was very nice but out spoken too.
I’ll always remember her help certifying at TANO. She welcomed us operators from INTEC even though us being there wasn’t a popular decision.
We will be praying for the family. I will always think of her when I drive by her parents old place on Sunnyside.
