Louise was born in Moore, Idaho on March 15, 1939 to Maurice Evan and Clover Ione Palmer Haney. She had seven brothers and one sister. Louise loved riding horses, and helping her dad on the ranch. She also loved to read, go on car rides in the mountains to look for wildlife, play casino games and predict which ones would hit, and to pick asparagus with her grandkids, which was the highlight of her life, all while teaching her grandkids how to drive the backroads. She was also a whiz with math.
Louise meet and married the love of her life Lewis Holmes Thomas on October 21, 1961. Together they had 6 children. Gaylene (Sid) Morrison, Lewis (Melody) Thomas, Sherlyn (Larry) Wheeler, David (Trisha) Thomas, Brenda (Pat) Carnahan, and Billy Thomas.
Louise waitressed and worked in potatoes in many local places. She could always out pick the best on the sorting machines, and carry over 9 plates at a time on one arm. She coached basketball and baseball for the Arco little league programs for many years, as Lewis refereed and umpired. She adored many of the kids and talked of them fondly.
Louise is finally back in the arms of her soulmate Lewis Holmes Thomas. She has 13 grandkids and 20 great grandkids with one due in February. We will all miss her funny ways. May she rest in paradise.
