Carol Jean Weston, 86, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Gables in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Carol Jean Keys Weston was born on January 25, 1939 to Stuart and Ruby Keys in Bristol, Oklahoma. Carol passed away on November 20, 2025 at the Gables in Blackfoot, Idaho. She was 86 years old.
Carols’s father, Stuart was a member of Cherokee Nation, as most of the Keys family are still members of Cherokee Nation. When Carol was about 3 years old her family moved from Bristol to Petaluma, Ca. Carol was too young to attend school, however she was allowed to go with her older siblings. This is probably where Carol got her love for learning and reading.
Carol went on to graduate from Petaluma High School. Then she had an opportunity to attend the University of Hawaii. While she was attending the University she lived with her oldest sister and her family. After graduating, Carol went on to teach at a local school in Honolulu. One evening Carol attended a dance at the officer’s club on base in Honolulu. This is when she met Ervin Weston (Wes). They were married February 14, 1964.
Wes was still in the navy and was assigned to Naval support command in Saigon Vietnam. Carol remained stateside and continued to teach. When Wes retired in 1967, they lived in Long Beach, Ca. for a while before moving to Netarts, Oregon. There they owned and operated a gas service station. After deciding to sell the service station, Carol and Wes moved to Howe, Idaho where they owned the Sinks Inn Restaurant and Bar. They had that business for 24 years.
After selling the restaurant, Carol went into federal service as a USDA meat inspector. During this time, they lived in Washington State and Texas. When Carol decided to retire, they moved to Butte City Idaho. Carol and Wes enjoyed traveling to spend time with friends and family before Wes passed in 2017.
After Wes’s passing Carol stayed active with the ladies auxiliary VFW. She held several Officer positions. Carol also helped the town of Butte City with water projects. Carol enjoyed knitting as she was always making something for someone. Carol had the most generous heart. After several years, Carol decided to sell her home in Arco and move to The Gables assisted living in Blackfoot Idaho. Carol enjoyed the staff and other residents playing games and helping them in any way she could. The staff at the Gables will miss Carol as she has been one of their most loved residents. Carol will be missed by her (Step) children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews who will remember her as the best Aunt ever. Carol is survived by one brother. Her older brother and sisters have already gone on to be with our Savior. When anyone thinks of Carol, they will have a smile on their hearts for all the love and joy she brought to anyone she ever met. Heaven will be rejoicing when this Angel comes home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Arco, Idaho. Arrangements are under the care of the Anderson Family Funeral Home.

Love you my beautiful Aunt.
John3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but have eternal life.”
You brought joy to all that had the pleasure of knowing you and you will be missed. I’m looking forward to when we meet again in Golry.
Love you so much Susan and Chooch ( Howard).
Aunt Carol, I have so many happy memories with you that I am so greatful for, You’re in my thoughts and in my heart forever. I love you so very much, and always will. I miss your presence, knowing you were near. Until we meet again.
Love my Aunt Carol very much. She babysat my sisters and me when we were young. She was a special lady and will be in my heart forever. I have fond memories of her. I am certain she is in Heaven with her husband Wes and they are rejoicing.
