Camille Clarice Babcock, 76, passed away Saturday, September 19th in Bountiful, Utah, surrounded by family.
Camille was born April 17th, 1944 to Anthony Ernest Madsen and Hazel Lucille Colclough Madsen. She was the oldest of two children.
She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. Because of her Dad's occupation as a traveling elevator/escalator technician, she lived in several cities (San Francisco, Seattle, Portland) before her family eventually settled in the Lost River Valley on her grandfather's dairy farm while Camille was in the eighth grade.
She attended school in Arco, graduating from Butte High School in 1962. She married her sweetheart, Lawrence Reid Babcock soon after graduating, on May 26, 1962. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple March 13th, 1970.
Camille worked as a court recorder, a substitute teacher at the Butte Middle/High School, and taught preschool alongside her daughter Stacy for several years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving faithfully in many callings, including that of a primary teacher and Relief Society president.
Camille's proudest accomplishment was that of being a wife, mother and homemaker. She loved to cook delicious meals for her family, take care of her home, yard and garden. She was an excellent cook and baker, she maintained an extensive food storage, canning and freezing much of the food she and her family grew. The needs of her family always came first.
She is survived by her children, Michelle (Jeff) Cupp of Spring, TX; Valerie Babcock and Stacy Babcock, both of Moore, ID; Angela Babcock of Blackfoot, Idaho; Marc (Leslie) Babcock of Moore, Idaho; Ryan (Tammy) Babcock of Pocatello, Idaho; her sister, Toni Kathleen Mathews of Colorado, and 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lawrence, and two sons, Scott and Wade.
Services will be held Saturday, September 26th at 3:00 pm at Anderson Family Funeral Home, 2555 N. Highway 93, Arco, Idaho. A viewing will be held an hour prior to the service, at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow services at Lost Rivers Cemetery.
