Albert W. Fullmer Jr.

Albert Whiting Fullmer Jr.

July 29, 1937 – October 31, 2023

Albert Whiting Fullmer died peacefully on October 31, 2023, in the Idaho Falls Community Hospital surrounded by his children. He was 86 years old.

Albert was the fourth child born to Albert Fullmer and Norma Richardson. He was born July 29, 1937, in Darlington, Idaho and raised on the family farm and ranch in the Big Lost River Valley. Albert attended elementary school in the valley and graduated from Mackay High School in 1955. Albert loved ranching, farming, working with horses, hunting, and fishing. He particularly loved Salmon fishing.

He married his high school sweetheart Eleanor Crawford on August 24, 1956, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage prior to Eleanor passing on October 30, 2022.

Albert was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving as Bishop, Branch President, High Council member four times, High Priest Group leadership, and Scout Master. He was also dedicated to the Boy Scouts of America. He earned his Silver Beaver and attended Wood Badge. Albert spent many years serving as a paraprofessional for the council.

A highlight of Albert’s service was his full time mission with Eleanor to the Cape Town South Africa Mission. In South Africa, Albert served as the Branch President in the Grahamstown branch for the duration of his and Eleanor’s 2-year mission.

Albert and Eleanor were blessed with 8 children: 4 boys and 4 girls. Albert III, Carlene, Gregory, Bethene, Jennette, Elaine, Ken, and Kevin. He and Eleanor also invited a foster child, Verdell Bobtail Bear, into their home for 6 years.

Albert loved his family. A hallmark of this was how fully he welcomed sons in-law and daughters in-law into the family. He and Eleanor spent most of their lives in the Lost River Valley. They loved their association with neighbors and friends, especially neighbor farmers.

Albert is survived by his siblings Roberta Jorgenson, Carma (Marshall) Jensen, Elva Jean Peterson, David (Lavon) Fullmer, and Howard (Julia) Fullmer and his children Albert (Debra) Fullmer III of Rexburg, Carlene (Jordan) King of Rigby, Bethene (Kelby) Birch of Idaho Falls, Jennette (Lloyd) Poole of Rexburg, Elaine (Brian) Higginson of Arco, Ken (Jenny) Fullmer of Idaho Falls, and Kevin (Teresa) Fullmer of Idaho Falls. Albert and Eleanor have 44 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor, his son Gregory Eugene Fullmer, his parents Albert and Norma, granddaughter Chera Birch, great-grandsons Brady Fullmer, Zade Hansen, and Phoenix Mathis.
